An Infallible and Brilliant Way for Deploying an Anchor

Some of you may have seen the blurb in this blog about the deployment of Sassy’s second anchor from the Sportyak, which I consider one of the nautical highlights of the last season on the Ottawa River: https://thewakesileave.wordpress.com/2015/09/04/returning-to-aylmer-island-on-295-for-the-wve-islands-qso-party/.

However, this anchoring procedure dwarves in comparison to Capt. Clark’s… who in addition of being much younger and daring also has an impeccable and infallible technique for deploying a large Bruce anchor.

Go to:

and skip to the 5th picture down the page.

The heavy Bruce is lighter in the water by virtue of the Archimedes principle and, in addition, it provides Capt. Liz Clark with the necessary added weight to counteract the natural buoyancy of the human body. It is brilliant!

Fair winds and smooth seas Capt. Clark!
