That Time of the Year… from Sun Dogs to Muskrat Peanuts…

Yes… haul-out time…

A week ago, Sassy was “full and by”, her sail pursued by the pastel colours of a rainbow-coloured sun dog…

She was sailing to an Aylmer Island Messabout together with a beautiful two-masted, 4-sailed (cutter-yawl rigged) turquoise Drascombe Lugger and “Woodpecker”, a junk-rigged red-hull Paceship 23 (likely the only one anywhere):

But one week later, she sits in her slip, totally naked awaiting haul-out…

…but not without delivering one last surprise reminiscent of the past:

Could the muskrats that inhabited Vándor’s lazarette eighteen years ago (see “Cruising the Ottawa River with a Quasi-Teenager” here: https://thewakesileave.wordpress.com/2015/11/11/sail-cruising-the-ottawa-river-between-lac-deschenes-and-chat-falls-in-the-early-2000s/) have made a comeback…?. It remains an unsolved mistery what animal could get so many peanuts, from where, and how could it possibly have them stashed inside Sassy’s lazarette…

Weather permitting haul-out will be effective this coming weekend…
